Currently, this difference between the areas of the PA is no longer acceptable, and to ensure an equitable service to every citizen, and because the cost is no longer sustainable economy continues to accelerate and competition with Asian markets.
The economic impact expected from the development of RFID technology is in the order of trillions of Euros. Figures from all over, they deserve all the attention of the European Commission: it must encourage the deployment of this technology through standards clear and simple that protect the rights of users in the field of privacy, health, and prices.
From the first session, called The Internet of things have emerged clearly avenues to allow the proper use of RFID technology: define one or more common standards for communication and define a protocol that enables interoperability between applications on the value chain of products (ie from raw materials to consumer). To this end a specific session was devoted to the study of the cases of application existing in Europe.
The first two days of June 2006 was held in Brussels, a workshop dedicated to two important fundamental issues of RFID technology: the interoperability of applications and the frequency spectrum to be used.
